A COMPETITION IN
MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2020
THE RACE
RACE AROUND THE WORLD is an event taking place in the new MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2020. Pilots will race round trip from and to San Diego, California heading east. The race is broken up into stages with points being awarded for completing each stage. The pilot to complete the trip with the most stage points wins.

**Dates and Times are To Be Announced**
THE RULES
The race is broken up into several stages over several days. During the race pilots will have to land, taxi and stop on the apron of each checkpoint airport before taking off to head to the next checkpoint. Upon arriving successfully at the final airport of that stage, pilots will receive points in the order that they arrived. The pilot to complete the race with the highest amount of stage points wins.

-
Pilots CANNOT refuel in air, on runways, taxiways or with engines running
-
Pilots CANNOT pause the simulation if they need to leave their seat. You MUST set autopilot (if you have it) or land
-
Pilots will start at the assigned airport for each stage at the same time
-
Pilots MUST fly one of the three selected aircraft and continue to fly that same aircraft for each stage of the competition
-
Pilots DO NOT have to fly the same route but MUST land at checkpoint airports in order. Failure to land, taxi and stop at each checkpoint will result in forfeiture of that stages points
-
Pilots may land as frequently as required for fuel or rest but should they need either they must taxi to the apron or safely off the runway and turn the engine off if taking on fuel.
-
Should a Pilots simulation crash, the Pilot may rejoin the competition 200 NMs in air from their last known location to compensate for lost time
-
Should a Pilot crash their aircraft, that stages points are forfeit. The Pilot may rejoin the next scheduled stage
-
Pilots MUST have controls set to realistic with no flight aides apart from auto ATC.
-
Pilots will need to come members of VATSIM as it will be used to track aircraft positions.
-
Pilots MUST fly with all settings on LIVE (players, traffic and weather). You will be flying at night and in bad weather.
**complete Rule Book along with Checkpoint Airport List will be released at a later date. Pilots and Judges will receive this well in advance of RAW and before the public**
